Orlando is a popular vacation destination. On top of the great Florida weather, the city has a lot to offer; most notably Disney World. Disney World is split into four sections so decide before going which ones you are going to go to, and if you are going to go to all four, get the park hopper pass. Definitely buy your tickets ahead of time so you can avoid the ticket queue. Orlando is also home to two other huge theme parks: Sea World and Universal Orlando. Theme park tickets tend to be very expensive, especially during peak season. Consider going during an off-peak season you will be able to save a lot of money both on park tickets and accommodation.
Because of the three theme park giants, the vacation crowd tends to be families with children. Of course, there are a number of things to keep the adults amused, including golf courses, shopping and vast choice of eateries. If you are vacationing in Orlando, then you should definitely get tickets for Cirque du Soleil; it is a must-see attraction and something that both adults and children can enjoy. Public transport to the major attractions is easily available. If you are staying in a major hotel, they usually offer shuttle services to and fro in the morning. However, you may find that it is more convenient and comfortable to rent your own car during your stay in Orlando.
Weather-wise, Orlando is generally hot; it is probably almost tropical level. If you're familiar with the other major places in Florida like Miami and its beaches, then you know what weather to expect in Orlando. As such, try to wear clothing that protects you from the heat but not too heavy. The best time to visit Orlando when you're trying to get away from winter in your place is during January until the first weeks of February. Fall is also a good time since it is not generally considered as the peak tourist season. Whatever time you choose, however, you will always be assured of a grand vacation.
