People sometimes don't stop and consider exactly what they are doing when they are drinking alcohol. First of all the alcohol will enter the esophagus and exit into the stomach, where it is then absorbed into the blood stream. It will then end up in the liver which has the job of breaking it up into different chemicals.
The following process leads to these chemicals being changed into water and co2, which are then excreted from the body.
