Do it yourself projects can save a lot of money, that's for sure. But there are still many more ways that you can save even more money. You might want to avoid doing certain things, or alternatively hire a professional to help you do certain tasks.This is your home that we are talking about which is very important after all. Home interior design may be great fun, however if you make a hash of it then it can haunt you forever. You do not want to make a mistake when creating your home interior design, maybe with western window curtains, this could damage the rest of your home.

If you have to do any form of electrical or plumbing for this project and you do not know how to go about either thing then you should defiantly get a professional. You cannot learn about electrics or plumbing from a book, it's too complicated.
Electrical and plumbing work is not only complicated but it can quite easily cause damage to your home if you don't understand exactly what it is you are doing. Don't include this as part of a home interior design project, this is much more complicated than that.
Load Bearing Walls
Before you start removing any walls you have to understand the concept of load bearing walls. You could just knock down any wall in your home, but the chances are your house would fall down. Load bearing walls are surprisingly enough walls which are designed to carry a load, knock the wall down and there is nothing supporting the load. What do you think will happen? If you don't know whether or not a wall is load bearing then get a professional in to ask.
Another important thing you need to know is whether any pipes or wires run through the wall. If you start knocking holes in walls with wires and pipes in then it won't only be dangerous, but it could destroy your home. You need to understand what you are capable of doing, and be prepared to ask for help if you need it. If you destroy your home as a result of your handy work then you will discover that your insurance company does not cover this damage.
