Colorado has always been known for its beautiful natural beauty. It's well worth exploring and perhaps the best place to start your exploration is its capital city of Denver.
Your adventure in Denver would begin at its international airport. It was impressive when it opened several years ago and is still one of the nation's best today. But who wants to spend all day at the airport when there is so much else to take in.
There are several ways to tour the city to get the feel of the place before you go any deeper. Half- and full-day bus tours are on hand that go by such sites as Larimer Square, a commercial district with beautiful Victorian homes, the lower downtown historic district (affectionately known as the LoDo) and state capitol building. Four Mile Historic Site is a wonderful tribute to the area's past. There is also the Molly Brown House, the former residence of Molly Brown, a Titanic survivor who was the subject of the rollicking musical "The Unsinkable Molly Brown".
For a breath of fresh air, you could do worse than take a walking tour of the Mile High City. Aim for the Civic Center with its fountains, flower garden and statues. There is also a Greek-style amphitheater. Additional cultural attractions include the Denver Art Museum, a beautiful spot that features 35,000 art works, including many examples of western and Native American art.
