Rave music is considered to be a loose combination of fast break beat and hardcore techno music. It contains many forms of trance music employing loops and synthesizers to make the unique sound it encompasses. The drug that was made famous by these large rave scenes was the pill called ecstasy. This drug is preferred by rave goers because of its ability to expand upon hard bounding music and bright lights, especially when put in motion. This is why when watching a rave music video you will see a lot of very bright colors along with a lot of movement. While on ecstasy the listeners of rave music say that the sound is clearer and more fluid. When ecstasy is mixed with dancing, and music users say that they enter a highly pleasurable state of mind.

During rave music videos a popular form of dancing to include is known as liquid dancing. This name is used in order to describe the motion the dancer uses as he or she moves along with the music. Generally only the arms and legs are used in this form of dancing, but the more advanced dancers are able to encompass their entire body.

Liquid dancing is formed from the style of eighties b-boy style break dancing. There are several different techniques and styles that can be applied to a dancer's personal style. Hand flow, rails, waves, traces, threads, contours, splits, and builds are all techniques that can be put in place in order to fully master the art of liquid dancing.

Hand flow is easily the most basic and most simple to be grasped by an amateur. There is no specific way to perform this technique. As long as the dancer is able to make their movements look liquid their form will be acceptable. Waves are the most popularly imitated forms of liquid dancing. The dancer's main goal is to move the body as if a wave was passing through it, alternating tensing the muscles and then relaxing.

Rave music videos are quickly increasing in popularity. The full involvement in motion, sound, and visual aids can be credited for this. The videos ability to pleasure every sense the body has to offer will guarantee and audience for as long as it is being produced.
