Making A Website
Roberto beiro
Back in the early days of the Internet, only a select few were able to, or could be bothered with, creating a website. The thing was that the Internet was still clunky and slow, and was the domain of nerds and real programmers who had the knowledge to make a website. These people understood HTML.
There were no programs like Dreamweaver available back then. Building a website was very labour intensive, and not something that just anyone could do.
Thankfully those days are well and truly over. Nowadays pretty much anyone can create a website, and for those who wish to publish or market on the internet it is a neccessity. Blogging is a phenomenon that is growing by thousands daily.
If you want to keep up with the times, learning to build your own website is a must. This is easy now. With the introduction of sites like My Space and Live Journal, it's so simple that anyone can do it.
It hasn't been long since I created my first website. I put it off for ages, telling myself that it was pointless, and that I was too busy. But if I am honest, I was scared. I didn't think I could do as good a job as some of the sites I had seen.
I was far below the level of most of my friends were at. I knew nothing about building a professional website. At best, I could make something stripped down and basic to display my content. Never the less, I decided it was worth a try.
When I got in action, I found that making a website wasn't very hard at all. There was so much free Web hosting that I had a variety of options available. It wasn't expensive, and I certainly didn't need programming or html knowledge! You can make a website with some basic functionality and content, sharing your photographs and your blogs, in about 10 minutes.
If you are interested in making a website with a more professional layout, it will take longer, but it is still nothing for you to worry about. Best of all, you will feel more included by your online friends, and you might just make new friends as well!
