Super heroes are Stepping Out of the Comic Strips!

Rebecca Worthlin

The general public is no stranger to the comics; most people can remember reading one at one point or another. And while most don't proclaim it from the rooftops, we LIKE the ideas portrayed in traditional comic books. They give us good guys fighting bad guys. They offer justice and fairness and action and all of this depends heavily on the most important aspect of all: the superhero!

We've even raised them to the level of fame we grant only the most important individuals in the world: Hollywood stars. They're on the big screen constantly. And if it's on the big screen that's pretty in your face. And very in your life whether you like it or not. Hollywood gets their people seen!

The love of the Super is even evident in the everyday lives of the typical consumer. We have a sweet, nostalgic reaction when we step into a "mom & pop" store and some of us might even make it a regular habit. But the fact that there are major box stores the size of entire shopping centers on every third or fourth corner and the general public is supporting them is another testament to the love of the "super."

When it comes right down to it we want convenience and convenience means that our every need will be met. We don't want to have to buy a watermelon at the corner stand because we can run to the nearest huge superstore and buy all our groceries, produce, household items, some hardware items, toys, and random articles of clothing...and then throw in ice, stamps and lunch while we're checking out at the register.

We might have high ideals and theories about the way it should be, but when it comes right down to it and we have one hour in which to obtain four 60 watt light bulbs, a gallon of white interior paint, 4 avocados, a roll of Forever stamps, 3 bags of crushed ice, toilet paper, Nyquil, 2 slushies for the kids, a box of copy paper, a gift for the neighbor kid's birthday party, shampoo, fresh flowers, bread, crayons, a new mystery novel, a greeting card, milk and snacks for the kids' lunches; we don't want to visit 6 different stores. We don't have the time or the inclination. So we go super.

And it's not just one or two of us. Recent activity suggests that a large majority of the population really appreciates the presence of the Super!

Honda Cars of Mesa served the Valley for over 31 years. They offered a quality product and great service. But recent changes have indicated an even greater devotion to Valley consumers; they've gone Super!

They've successfully increased their reach and their customer satisfaction by going super!

They moved to a new location in Chandler and took on a new name: San Tan Honda Superstore of Chandler. Changing times mean changing industries. And changing industries mean changing names. And that's not all.

San Tan Honda Superstore of Chandler does have a new location in the San tan portion of Loop 202 and Gilbert Road in Chandler, Arizona, but that's not the only thing that's new. The now 14 acre dealership offers more cars, better service (including 44 service bays and a separate stand alone express service area), and a fancy, new, state of the art showroom housed in their 105,000 square foot building. And we're not done yet. I told you they'd gone super.

It's the perfect example of the public loving on the "super" when it comes to their day to day lives.

You don't need to read a comic book everyday to get your daily dose of superhero anymore. And you don't have to head out to the theatre to catch the latest flick to feel as if you can still believe that super is a possibility. There's no more pretending required (but it's always a voluntary option). The day to day life of everyday people are now super all on their own. Don't believe me? Just head out to the nearest superstore or the nearest super-dealership and you'll be shocked at how you didn't realize it sooner. The general public has clearly gone super.
