This could be physically adding a new room or modifying the basement or attic to be another room. It could be turned into a bedroom or a games room or study. All of these, though, are great projects if you trying to increase the value of your home through remodeling and construction.
Projects that don't generally return good value are swimming pools, Jacuzzis or saunas. Adding high tech. gadgetry and appliances does not offer a good return on investment either. If you need to explain the benefit of a remodeling project to a real estate agent or potential buyer then it probably isn't a good investment.
