The term corset top is often interchanged with corset. However, there is a huge difference between the two. A corset top is a modern version of a corset and is not used as an undergarment. Instead, a corset top is commonly worn like a shirt, only sexier. Many specialty lingerie shops have corset tops for women of all shapes and sizes.
Corset tops can be bought in small, medium, large, and plus sizes. Corset tops are not custom fitted by a corsetry tailor as they don\'t need to fit that tightly. The wearer\'s measurements are not taken, unlike with the traditional corset.
The only problem with a corset top is that its size may not fit well with the wearer\'s body measurements. It may fit well on the breast area but not on the waistline. Or, it may fit well on the waistline but the breast space will be too small. If the wearer\'s body isn\'t toned, cellulite or fat may bulge.
During special events, many celebrities can be seen wearing a corset top as a fashion statement. On the other hand, a corset top looks great even with a pair of jeans or a skirt and it doesn't need some steamy leather outfit to look decent. Aside from being very comfortable and easy to wear, a corset top can be partnered with either casual and formal clothes. A corset top can emphasize the best assets of the lady, making even the men an advocate for corset tops.
