At a normal neuromuscular junction, a nerve impulse triggers the release of acetylcholine, which causes the muscle to contract. Excessive release of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction causes overactive contraction of uscles, which over time can cause lines to form. Botox helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles, Botox relaxes the muscle by blocking the release of a chemical called acetylcholine. Botox is not a cure, and your systems will gradually return as it wears off. Botox is injected into the affective muscles. Most people see effects within a few days up to 2 weeks and it usually last between 3 to 6 months.
