My grandmother makes the worlds finest chocolates. You may expect that this would written by a 10-year-old, but it isn’t. I am in my mid-20s, and I love chocolate. I have tried some of the worlds finest candies from all over. I have tried Ghiradelli chocolates, Belgian chocolates ? you name it and I have tried it. Nonetheless, no one does it like my grandmother does. She is not just any grandmother, you see, she is a professional chocolatier, and quite a skilled one at that.
When my grandmother goes to the grocery store, she is shocked by what she sees in the candy sections. Everything is about gimmicks and packaging nowadays. There are candies that are so heavily package that there is more plastic than candy! Kids will buy candy cell phones, candy cigarettes, candies shaped like cap guns ? the list goes on and on. My grandmother is not like that, however. In her opinion, the art of chocolate making has been perfected for centuries. She keeps it simple, and keeps true to her craft. She doesn’t even make sugar free chocolates! If you want to the newest trend, you can always go to the shop down the street. My grandma simply makes the worlds finest chocolate the way that she always has.
Her family has been making the worlds finest chocolates for generation, and I expect they will keep doing it for generations more. In most respects, the business hasn’t changed in a long time, but they have done a few things differently. Just because she makes the worlds finest chocolates doesn’t mean that she can’t make them in quantity. The really high end chocolates that she makes ? the expensive ones ? are still made by hand. However, she has recently upgraded the factory to include bulk chocolates.
You see, her chocolate has become so famous in the area that demand has gone way up. The ones that she sells in her shop go stale very quickly if they are not eaten immediately, so she makes slightly lower grade ones that will last longer on the shelves. They are still some of the worlds finest chocolates, if not quite as good, and they let people who wouldn’t get the chance normally taste her chocolate. They have even started carrying a few of them down at the grocery store that she disparages so much. If all goes well, soon they might start replacing those stupid candy cell phones.
