wallpaper removal
If there is one thing that I am grateful for, it is that not all wallpaper is created equal. There was a wallpaper border in my bathroom which was put up by my landlord before I moved in. I didn’t really care for it, but it wasn’t that bad either. I noticed that it was starting to peel from the wall at a few edges because of the moisture in the bathroom, and I thought that I had better fix it. Little did I know, the next day I would be finding out all about wallpaper removal.
When I got up the next morning, my then four-year-old daughter had gotten up before me. Though she was in her room, I knew she was up before I saw her. I knew this because she had taken it upon herself to do some wallpaper removal all on her own. She had ripped the wallpaper in the bathroom where it had been peeling from the wall. She had about half of it ripped off in her efforts, and I have to say that she was more meticulous in her wallpaper removal than I have ever seen her in any other type of effort.
When I walked into my bathroom, her wallpaper removal was very evident. There were shreds of the wallpaper boarder all over the place. I just stood in shock, and then I think I might have cried. It was a huge mess, and the bathroom wallpaper border was destroyed. I knew that I would have to clean it up, and I also knew that I had to do the rest of the wallpaper removal all on my own. The landlord would not be pleased if she saw what I saw.
Luckily, the rest of the wallpaper removal was not that hard. All I had to do was wet it down with a sponge and it peeled off. Because she had torn every possible spot she could, this did take me a while. I am glad it was not the type that had to be scrapped off with a knife, or it never would have gotten done. I thought I had explained what she did wrong rather well, but once the new boarder I put up peeled, she did it again. At least this time she only did one spot. However, it is still a problem that I had to fix.
