Wall Paper Boarders
There are many little things you can do to spice up any room that won’t cost you a lot of money. Because I am a renter, I really can’t do any major painting or redesign of my home, but there are smaller things that I have done to make things look a lot better and homier. Most landlords stick with white for every room, and that can get boring really fast. I have remedied this in some of my rooms by adding wall paper borders that add color and style to the room.
There were already some wall paper borders in my home and I can’t say that I liked them very much. Though my daughter got into a lot of trouble for doing this, she tore down one of the wall paper borders in my home. It was in the bathroom, and apparently the steam had caused the border to come free from the wall in some spots. She found this and started to tear it down. I found her in there pulling large chunks for the wall. There were pieces of paper all over the bathroom, and it took me a while to clean them all up. It was like a parade went through my bathroom and threw confetti everywhere.
Though I was incredibly mad at her for doing this, it gave me an opportunity to go out and look at wall paper borders for a replacement. This time though, I got to pick what I wanted to have in the bathroom, and I got something that matched the colors I had chosen. The wall paper borders that I found were all great, but the perfect one stuck out at me instantly. I bought it and took it home to be put up, and I also gave my daughter a lecture about tearing things from the wall. I’m still not sure she understands though.
There was still some of the old wall paper borders on the wall, and I had to get it down before I could hang the new. It was easier than I thought though, and I got it down very quickly. All I had to do was wet a cloth with hot water and press it down on the wall paper borders. They softened and were very easy to peel right off the wall. I could then wash the wall and put up the new border. In the end, her mischief was a blessing, but you won’t catch me telling her that.
