School Bullying
One thing no one wants to put up with is school bullying. It happens though, and it is getting to be more and more of a problem. Most children won’t admit that they are having a problem with a bully, so it’s important that parents keep an eye on how their children are doing. There are always signs that something is wrong, so you just have to see if something seems off with them at any given time. It’s not just the nerdy or introverted kids that have a problem either. All kids are in danger.
I had experience with school bullying when I was in school. I had a friend in school that was somewhat of a question mark. We were good friends for a while, but there were a lot of things that she did that bothered me. I saw her one day take off after a girl who looked at her the wrong way. That wasn’t her only case of school bullying either, and I decided that it was time to call an end to the friendship. I couldn’t stomach hanging out with someone like her any longer.
Once I cut her loose, she turned her school bullying onto me. I suspected this might happen, but I wasn’t really scared of her and she knew it. She made sure she came after me when she knew she had an out. One day she threw a piece of pineapple at me in the cafeteria, and a teacher saw it. We were called into the office and she tried to talk her way out of it. When we left the office we were alone in the hallway and she turned tail and ran. So much for her career of school bullying right?
Though I wasn’t scared of the school bullying that I went through, it did still bother me. Many people are scared though, and it can take over their mind. Their grades will fall and they will refuse to go to school on some days. Those who are putting up with school bullying often refuse to go to school functions, and they become withdrawn. If you see any of this going on with your child and it’s not normal for them, you might want to try to find out what is going on with the. Let your kids know they can talk to you about anything, and hopefully they can open up to you before things go too far.
