New York State has much to offer to anyone wanting to immerse themselves in the natural world. There are many State Parks, incorporating forests, mountain ranges and lakes. RV users and campers can enjoy the scenery in a series of NY campgrounds, such as the Country Roads Campground in the northern Catskill Mountains.
This peaceful site offers terrific views and amenities. There are 62 full hook up and 35 partial hook up sites in addition to 21 tent sites. RVs and cabins are also available to rent. The campground also caters for horse owners. There are picnic tables, fire rings and a general store. Children enjoy their own playground and organized activities and all the family can play on the arcade games and play ping pong, volleyball or badminton. Campers can also relax in the swimming pool and Jacuzzi.
Lake George Escape Evergreen Resort is situated in woodland and meadows in the lovely Adirondack Park. This beautiful setting is available for RVs, tents or cabin rental. There are 424 hook up sites and 147 dry tent sites. Over 70 of the sites have phone connections and modem access, running on 20, 30 or 50 amp supply with WiFi Internet access. Cable TV is also available. A variety of amenities will keep everyone entertained on this fine example of NY campgrounds. Campers can swim in the river or heated swimming pool, go tubing or hire a canoe, row boat or motor boat. There are facilities for tennis, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball and soccer. The site also has a beach, laundromat, camp store and game room.
Sunset RV Park, Cabins and Campground is located at Oswego by Lake Ontario and has been operating since 1930. Campers can fish in the Oswego River and enjoy the local hiking and biking trails. There is a children’s playground, a swimming pool and a playing area for croquet and horseshoes. If campers want a change from the scenery at this loveliest of NY campgrounds, they can go into the town of Oswego and sample the museums or the historic Fort Ontario. There are also three golf courses, a speedway track, bowling alley and opportunities for kayaking and canoeing.
The Brook N Wood Family Campground is located in the Hudson Valley, surrounded by woods and meadows. There are more than 150 RV sites, suitable for rigs up to 40 feet with full hook up supply. As with most NY campgrounds, there is also an area for tents with access to water and a bathhouse and cabins are available for rent. Nearby amenities include golf courses, ski runs, a roller rink, boating and fishing. The Old Rhineback Aerodrome and the Vanderbilt Mansion are also close by.
