Coronado Springs
Disney resorts have excellent facilities and their hotels are first class. The Walt Disney World Resort in Florida has a flagship hotel called the Coronado Springs, which opened in 1997. Situated in the Animal Kingdom area, the architecture and d?cor is inspired by the southern states and Mexico, as seen in the tiled designs and Mayan style. Guest rooms are spacious and filled with hand produced, wood furniture.
The lakeside hotel caters for the business user as well as the tourist and provides convention space, a banqueting service and high speed Internet access in the guest rooms. There are specially designed meeting rooms, exhibit space and a ballroom.
Guests enjoy their stay in comfort, with room amenities that include a coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, ironing board and security safe. Options include an in room refrigerator and a baby crib by request. Non-smoking rooms are available and there are rooms with disabled access. There is a laundry service and some of the 1,967 rooms in the Coranado Springs contain king size beds. Parents can book a babysitting service and the Disney Channel and ESPN cable network is available.
Dining includes a full dinner menu and snacks and guests can order room service. Families can have fun at the children’s playground and the sand volleyball court. There are three heated swimming pools to choose from and a health club. Other facilities include a barber shop, beauty salon and an arcade with video and pinball games. The Coronado Springs hotel staff will organize rental for kayaks or bikes.
The hotel resort covers a lot of ground, so the management has installed a transportation service, in the form of golf carts, to move around the complex. As for room rates, this hotel falls into the mid price range category with the most expensive tariff being during peak season. Children under 17, sharing with an adult, can stay for free. Friends and family left behind will appreciate a gift from the gift shop, which specializes in Disney items and Mestizo arts and crafts.
After exploring the hotel, Disney World is ready and waiting. It is the largest theme park in the world and there are twenty hotels on the resort to accommodate the thousands of visitors each year. The park contains the Magic Kingdom, with the Cinderella Castle, Epcot, the Animal Kingdom and the Disney-MGM Studios. In addition to the main attractions, there are two water parks, six golf courses and various shops and restaurants. The Coranado Springs hotel is also a good base for going to other local attractions. Sea World and Universal Studios are close by.
