Comedy shows
I don’t live in the largest of towns, but large enough to have a large comedy club. About once every few months, our friends and I get together and check out a few weekend comedy shows in our town. Most of the time, the comedians are individuals who just haven’t yet hit the big time, but they are usually incredibly funny. Drew Carey actually got his start performing at some comedy shows in my hometown. Of course, we’ve never seen him again once he did make something of himself though he always promised he’d come back for a free show.
One of my husband’s favorite things is to go to various comedy shows. He can be in the absolute worst of moods and comedy shows will change all of that. We’ve been lucky enough to travel around the country for different vacations and seen lots of comedy shows in some of the greatest comedy clubs in this country. Honestly though, some of the smaller clubs have had comedy shows that you just wouldn’t expect from a small town. Somehow, those small clubs manage to attract some well known comedians. The town of Hershey, PA ? near my hometown, has managed to get some of the best names in the comedy business. We recently saw Ron White and I can say that I’ve never laugh as hard as I have prior to that comedy show. He was absolutely wonderful.
When we were in Hollywood, we managed to see another one of the best comedy shows that I could have asked for ? Lewis Black. Though sometimes a bit too crazy, he is my husband’s favorite comedian. So is Carlos Mencia. Excellent comedy shows if you ever have the opportunity.
Comedy shows can either be a complete waste of time or a night of wonderfully entertaining memories. Of course, if you end up getting a few drinks in your system before the comedian takes the stage, you might find that the comedy show ends up being a bit more entertaining than originally planned. If you don’t have any comedy clubs in your local area, it might be worthwhile to do some research and find some towns that aren’t too far away. Typically, comedy shows don’t cost a lot of money. However, if you’re managing to get tickets to some of the biggest headliners in the business, you may end up paying a pretty penny for the tickets. We try to consider it more of an investment than an expenditure. It has been proven that laughing can greatly affect your mental and physical well-being. That makes it an excellent investment.
