We are what we eat. This is something you’ve probably heard ever since you were a small child. Chances are you tell the same thing to your children. We have to let them know at an early age how imperative it is to eat healthy. It’s especially crucial at that time in their life because they’re growing. Poor childrens diets can lead to lack of growth and obesity issues rather quickly. This is the last thing any of us want for our precious little ones. So, now you have to stop and think for a moment. What are you routinely feeding your child?
My wife and I embraced the notion of healthy childrens diets the minute our daughter was born. We wanted to get her off to a great start. Obviously for nearly a year, it was all about the milk and formula. But once she began teething, we knew we had to make some choices. One of the main things we did was introduce her to the fruit and vegetable group. We offered her tons of this stuff. Fortunately for us, as she grew older, she really took to it. Now at the age of eight, she absolutely can’t live without all her fruits and vegetables. She’s grown too used to them and certainly loves them. At this point she doesn’t frown at any of them. Another prudent choice when it comes to childrens diets involves fast food. Steer your child away from this stuff. Fast food is terrible for everyone, but it’s especially harmful to growing children, because it does not assist in their growing process. They will only end up growing out, instead of up. Gaining weight can seriously affect their self-esteem. So don’t allow it to happen. Make trips to Burger King a once a month thing or less. That type of food lacks proper vitamins and nutrients that are essential for growth. Also, they’re loaded with fat, sodium and cholesterol.
Another key to successful childrens diets is the avoidance of soft drinks. If you get your child hooked on sugary soft drinks, they’re doomed. Don’t give it to them. Again, make it a special treat thing that doesn’t occur often. Instead, provide them with milk, water, and 100 percent juice. Let them choose. This allows them to enjoy it more. Your child’s healthy life starts with a healthy beginning. Take childrens diets very seriously for your child’s own good.
