Keep Your Coffee Shop Hopping In The Summer

There are some ways to increase coffee shop business in the summer months. You don't want to see your profits slide due to the weather warming up. While you will always have your daily customers the weather certainly is a factor for coffee products. Many will be trading in that hot cup of coffee for a cold glass of iced tea. People tend to drink more when the temperatures heat up outside.
You can keep your coffee shop hopping in the summer though if you are creative about it. Offer a period of time in the afternoons from 2 -4 pm where you offer price drinks. This is a great way to keep people coming in because they already love what you have to offer. Now they can benefit from the price of it as well.
Chances are your menu offers some very wonderful selections. If you don't offer iced coffee then you may want to. It can become a permanent part of the menu or just something you want to offer during the warmer part of the year. These types of drinks cool, refreshing, and they offer the coffee flavor that your customers are looking for.
Some coffee shops also offer a selection of drinks that aren't along the lines of coffee. They are great for attracting summer business though. Fresh fruit smoothies are a great one that not only taste great, they are very healthy. It is a great way to get a snack during the hot part of the day that won't leave you with a sugar high for a while and then suffering from the low later on in the day.
How about ice cream? You may want to offer a couple of great flavors. It is understandable that you don't want to become a full service ice cream shop. However, the standards - chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry can cover it. Of course you may want to offer a few such as coffee or cappuccino flavors as well.
Lighten up the atmosphere of the coffee shop in the summer too. This way it will become a place where people enjoy hanging out. Keep the dcor simple but attractive and inviting. You also want to keep it very cool in there so people will find it more relaxing than the temperatures outdoors.
Since kids are out in the summer, you want your coffee shop to offer drinks and an atmosphere they will love. This way parents are going to be coming in with them to get a snack instead of going to a kid oriented location. This is great way to promote families in your coffee shop. The money you will make appealing to this crowd is very good so don't brush off the idea.
With a few simple changes you can certainly continue to have a very busy coffee shop all summer long. You are risking losing money if you just allow the business to continue as it is during the warmer months. You may be making a profit, but the overall amount could be much higher if you put some effort into advertising and into offering some great summer drinks.
