A Comparison of Wii and PS3
Martin G. Williams
When choosing between the Wii and the PS3, there are a variety of factors that should be taken into consideration. The two prime factors to consider when buying any gaming console are the quality of the hardware and the system's online plans.
The Nintendo Wii
To compare the Wii and PS3 gaming systems, two strong factors to consider are the basic hardware of the system and online capabilities. The basic controls of the Wii are extraordinarily innovative compared to any other system on the market currently, although the system is lacking in terms of processing power. This new and unique controller gives the Wii a large advantage over the PS3 system. Additionally, the controller provides the advantage of a new challenge, even for seasoned gamers that the PS3 does not provide. Although the PS3 has advantages in online functioning, the price of the Wii makes it much more accessible & popular.
The online Plan for the Wii is not satisfactory. Like the PS3 its going to be a free service but with far fewer games. It will be harder to laocate friends online as you will need to enter a friend code. The PS3 service is much better.
The Sony PS3
In the debate between the Wii and the PS3, the PS3 will win. The most advanced gaming system on the market, the PS3 works from a CELL chip that allows customization of the processing environment. This is more difficult for developers, however, it gives players excellent views on multi-platform games. This chip has a lot of untapped power, which means that although it is more expensive, it wins out over the less powerful Wii.
In the current market, the gaming console that provides the best online experience is the PS3. The normal PS3 versus Wii debate doesn't apply here. Basically, the PS# has the ultimate in online play when compared to the Wii or Xbox 360. There are many different games, an online marketplace, and a massive network to play on with ganers from all around the world. Many of the PS3s games have at least some online features and without any fee!
Make an informed choice, as there is an equal number of pros and cons to take into account before making the final decision. Only you can judge which of the systems available would be more suitable for you.
