Flower Girl Dresses: How to Find the Perfect Dresses

Love is in bloom and you are planning your wedding! The one subject you will find the least help and information on is picking your flower girl dresses. Do you want white or ivory flower girl dresses? Pink or a combination of colors?
What styles are "in" for flower girl dresses this season?
There are several very "standard" flower girl dress styles that are always appropriate:
- Order dresses from the same manufacturer in the same color at the same time as the bride's maids' dresses to match;
- Shop in store after store for months dragging the children and parents with you (decision-by-committee is never a good idea!);
- Settle for whatever is available at the last minute;
- Shop easily on line and send a message to each family telling them which style and color to order and that they need to get them ordered now - or order them yourself so you know they are ordered in time.
- Shop on line early, get them delivered in plenty of time and check it off your list of "To Dos"!
What flower girl dress styles are available?
- The #1 hot choice this season is the A-line dress. It is a figure-flattering style that looks good on almost shape including plus-sized girls.
The flower-petal filled dress - perfect for tiny flower girls. The petals in the layers of the dress (they often come with a pin-on flower or two, too) reflect the colors of your wedding party on a white or ivory dress (some come in black, too). Get creative by adding other colors to the petals in the skirt to make it perfect for your own unique wedding!
The ballgown. This is the classic silhouette of frothy skirt and fitted bodice. (Hint: the flower-petal filled dress usually has this shape). This is always a perfect choice for little ones but older girls may think this style is too "babyish" and pitch a fit. The "pick up" skirt is actually a ballgown that is modified with layers of the outer fabric "picked up" in places to create a different effect.
