Non profit fundraising is the process of soliciting and collecting funds for a cause. This is done by non profit organizations who advocate causes which are mostly concerns shared by the general public. You can hold events and programs which work towards achieving your non profit fundraising goals. These events range in their nature, the cause they have, the target market, and other more factors. However, there may only be two basic types of non profit fundraising. The following are these two types:

Planned Giving - This type of non profit fundraising gives donors the option to give a gift once they die. They may choose the said option or another which lets them offer a large gift while they still live. Capital Campaign - This type of non profit fundraising lets you solicit funds for the construction of a building. It may also be for the purpose of acquiring or renovating a building. You may also use this type of non profit fundraising to let donors contribute to an endowment or a growing investment. Another purpose is to find donors who can contribute to a fund. One classic example of this fund is a fund for the research of treatments for certain diseases. A capital campaign is usually a long-running non profit fundraising campaign because the funds needed are usually huge.

Despite of the varying activities of non-profit organizations, there are only two main types of non-profit fundraising: Capital Campaign - This type of fundraising encourages people to solicit funds for the construction of structures and to pave the way for scientific discoveries. Being the more popular type of fundraising, a lot of charitable institutions use the capital campaign method to create housing projects, reservations, and to fund doctors so that they can find the cure for certain diseases.

Not all people are willing to give cash to non-profit fundraising projects, which is why non-profit organizations usually focus on a particular demographic of society. There are cases when charitable institutions forge tie-ups with corporations or the local government to boost the raising of funds. Non-profit organizations also target individuals to provide funds as you will probably see several charitable slogans in public places.

Federated funds - This source may only be available to you if you have an established non profit organization. They usually give huge amounts of money. Foundations - Foundations may contribute to your fund in various ways. This is because foundations have several kinds and each kind has its own way of contributing funds. The most common way may be in the form of financial endowment. Whatever kind of non profit fundraising you plan to launch, always take all these sources into consideration. After all, you never know where you will get the next biggest percentage for your fund.
