SQL stands for Structured Query Language, a computer programming language. This is a specialized type of language that is often used to retrieve data from RDDMS, or a relational database management system. SQL is superior to other types of programming languages like C and BASIC because it is a set-based and declarative type of language. These language queries can be used to retrieve various forms of data like tables and scalar values from the database. It can be set to retrieved specified or conditional data that matches the query being sent.
Among the elements, the queries are the most common operations in the SQL database. It is performed with a declarative keyword SELECT, which retrieves the data from a table. However, the SELECT query has no standard effect on the stored data. In some cases, the SELECT query has an effect in the database similar to Microsoft SQL Server's SELECT INTO.
