The Rising Popularity of All Inclusive Caribbean Vacations
Mark Hall
For lovers of vacations that include everything in the price you will be spoiled for choice in the Caribbean. The popularity of all inclusive Caribbean vacations has meant they actually outnumber the accommodation only vacations sold each year. One theory suggests it is part of a plan to attract more visitors to the Caribbean; although there is no proof that there has ever been any need for this.
In all likelihood it is just the fact that all inclusive Caribbean vacations are becoming more popular generally as they are more cost effective; which makes them particularly attractive for families on a budget. These vacations can even be tailored to suit individual needs where they are designed to suit a particular type of visitor. Many people traveling to the islands are returning to see family and not so much is needed; these visitors only require a flight package as their accommodation would have already been arranged.
For the average tourist and his family, an all inclusive Caribbean vacation is the more likely scenario with costs manageable right from the start. While many people like to book everything themselves, this isn't always the least expensive option as operators can offer massive discounts. Of course travelers who like to arrange everything them self, would not consider such an option even if the vacation were 'to die for'. Many people are still unsure of what to expect from an all inclusive vacation even though they have now been around for a good many years.
The only constant with every vacation booked is that the accommodation is included as part of the price. For example, all food, even snacks are part of the arrangement with this type of vacation; this arrangement can vary but the majority will at least supply a cooked or continental breakfast. It is strange how many people still believe if they have booked a full board package that it actually means all inclusive!
The difference is that an all inclusive Caribbean vacation package will include all food and drinks whereas a full board vacation only generally includes breakfast, lunch and an evening meal. It is not unusual to find that special arrangements have been made with other hotels and restaurants; this does not normally mean that entertainment, food and events are free at these places, just discounted. Many all inclusive Caribbean vacations will include other recreational activities; dining at sister hotels or restaurants at no additional cost is quite normal and means you do not have to spend a great deal of money even if you leave the resort.
