Sex Abuse Recovery
Roger Rowe
For many years sexual abuse has been rampant in this country and around the world. Those who suffer fro the effects continually of this terrible encounters have had very few alternatives for healing. But, these times are different.
In the near future, we will search out new ways to heal, ways that have been ignored in times gone by. We will re-discover approaches that have neglected and not utilized. There is a new day coming.
Dead are the days when charging big hourly rates for evaluation by the mainstream are the only procedures to choose from. This is what I think:
1) Having a professional to examine your feelings is a substantial part of healing, it offers no no move forward. Many care givers are taught just this as an approach to care in the world of therapy. Why, because analysis is considered to be a major component of therapy but it is not the end all of the work it takes to heal. These people, for the most part have never endured what most victims have. Hopefully, this will make sense to you as it does me.
2) Observation is useful for some things like developing action plans based on recorded behavior or for developing clinical methods to measure the extent of some behavior or past experience. The problem is that observation is being used as therapy in staed of developing a therapy based on the findings of the observation. Seems fairly simple, doesn't it? Nothing can be changed through observation, ONLY THROUGH ACTION!
3) As food and fuel prices put our country in a vise, health care insurance is the only entity that can afford this type of healing, even if it is only partially effective! New concepts of care have been few and far between in the last 60 years. But, there have a couple of new ideas for treatment rise to the surface.
Are there many people who have been abused sexually in our society? How many can you identify? Are the signs apparent and can you point people to the help they need? Signs of abuse are not difficult to identify. Any parent or friend who is really paying attention will notice.
Would you offer the help to any whom might need it? Would you have the courage to offer the help if you knew where to get it?
