I started wearing glasses when I was a school child. I couldn't see without them really. I hated being at school with them on, but reading and writing was impossible if I didn't wear them.
I'd try to function without them as I got older, especially on dates. Not a good idea. I would go to the movies, and I wouldn't be able to see what was happening, and driving home was a scary experience, I can tell you.
Things came to a head one day at a local restaurant I was at with a few friends of mine. I left the table to go to the bathroom, came back and sat at a completely different table! I was the laughing stock for the rest of the day. That was the last time I would go out without my glasses.
It wasn't long after that incident that I had another routine eye examination. My optician told me that my eyes kept getting progressively worde on every visit to her. To slow things down, she suggested that I try contact lenses instead.
This was back in the day when soft contact lenses were a new thing. My optician and I had discussed wearing contacts before and she told me then that the traditional hard lenses would not work for me because of my large iris. wearing them would make thing worse. This time she suggested new Johnson and Johnson contact lenses that were soft and also had larger lenses.
She showed me how to put in a pair of my new Johnson and Johnson contact lenses and checked the fit. I was amazed at how comfortable they were and what a difference they made to my sight. I was so excited that I would not have to wear my glasses ever again.
I have been wearing Johnson and Johnson contact lenses ever since, although now I am using the disposable lenses. I throw them away every month and put ina new pair. They are an even better product now. Even more comfortable and made from a breathable material.
You know what really pleases me about my contact lenses? They are dirt cheap. I paid more for the first pair I wore that I pay for a years supply of thes ones. And since i started wearing contacts my eyes have not deteriorated any further.
