Weddings: Choosing Wedding Ring
Ray Smith
Wedding rings are the seal of a marriage and as far as a couple is concerned, the most important aspect to get right; this is a special part of the marriage process and should have great meaning. Try to find a pair of rings that will complement you both; rings should be a reflection of the couple that wear them. Quality wedding rings are what are required for your wedding day; local malls will have jewelers but they may not have the range that is required when you are looking for something special.
It's true that local mall jewelers will carry a certain range of rings for this occasion; the range and quality may not be up to the standards of the specialist jeweler. The type of ring will be based on the engagement ring but must also be something that suits the man as well if it is to match.
The wedding ring should be attractive, but by the standards of the engagement ring - understated; but if this is not the case it is important to ensure it complements the other ring at the very least. Alternatively you will just need to spend time trying new wedding bands until you find one that matches the engagement ring.
Fashions in rings come and go but the traditional metals including: (1) White Gold, (2) Titanium, (3) Silver and (4) Yellow Gold; recently however, platinum has become the metal of choice because of its durability. Platinum is a particularly good choice for rings as they keep their looks for much longer than gold and men appreciate the strength that is inherent in platinum. It is important the ring looks good for many years; men are the people most likely to have a manual position, and also the most likely of the couple to damage them!
To ensure both wedding rings fit on the wedding day, it will be necessary to have both of them re-sized correctly; leave this to the professionals if you want to be confident the rings will fit on the wedding day. It is just as important to ensure the rings are not so loose that there is a chance they will be lost.
Give yourself a couple of months to choose the rings and have them adjusted; this ensures you will not be in a panic a few days before the wedding day, waiting for the adjustments to be completed. There is a huge variety of wedding bands available these days; choosing the right one can take quite some time and a number of visits to the jeweler.
There isn't a stronger symbol of two people's love than the wedding ring; this is the reason why they are so important in many cultures.
