Flooring made of hardwood is preferred by many for completion of construction of the office, house and other structural buildings. Hardwood floorings can be noticed in almost all of the large buildings that we might have seen. This is because; these floors are naturally burdened or laden with features that ensure aesthetics and longevity.
You start visualizing the clues of history and the forest from which it is come from when you look at hardwood flooring. In other words, hardwood flooring imbues a heritage look to the dwelling, be it an office set-up or the house of your dreams. A properly installed hardwood floor gives a natural look and warmth to the room. These have the rich characteristic to give a personality to a structure that has it. A sense of permanence is an inseparable part of a house with hardwood floor on it. Apart from the aesthetic advantages, it adds a value to the home that can stay for a lifetime with right care and maintained properly and also can be made tidy easily. The environment would also be safe as these are natural made from wood and don't contain any destructive elements added as such.
Engineered wood floors, solid wood floors and laminate wood floors are three basic kinds of hardwood floors.
Engineered hardwood is a make of several composite layers of different varieties of wood whereas the others are a make of different grades of the similar wood, grouped and sticked or glued together under pressure and heat. Engineered wood flooring are less affected by humidity changes and can be placed below or above ground level.
Solid wood floors are installed on concreted till the floor stays on or above the level of ground. These come in 3 type namely strip flooring, installed by fixing to the sub-floor strips which are of 2-1/4 inches in width and these widths range from 1 to 3 inches. Plank flooring boards can be fixed or screwed or nailed to the sub-floor with the help of screw holes that can be covered with plugs of wood. And the last kind being, parquet flooring which contains wooden blocks laid in a attractive and decorative styles or patterns. Wood laminate flooring is the last type and is based on plywood that has a top layer of veneer. We normally find this in three-ply with 3/8 inches of thickness. Finishing and sanding can be done to a maximum of three times. Is bamboo floors a good idea? There are plenty of fads in the design world but bamboo flooring seems different. It is increasingly being used in both remodeling and new construction because it makes practical sense. Bamboo floors are rapidly becoming a popular choice of home owners.
