Planning Great Surprise Parties
There are many things that we love to celebrate. There are birthdays each year, and all type of anniversaries. Promotions, births, weddings, and other life changing events are also great reasons to have a celebration. Most of these events are planned out with the knowledge and even the input of the person who will be honored, but some people like to throw surprise parties for those who may have something to celebrate. These take some finesse and some extra special planning.
The most important part of surprise parties is, of course, the element of surprise. This can be hard to pull off. It might mean that you have to have the party on some day that the person would not expect. If you are throwing this party for their birthday, you may want to do it a week or at least a few days early. If they are carted off by someone on their big day, they may very well get suspicious that surprise parties are in the works. Think very carefully about time as the first part of your planning process.
You also have to make arrangements for your surprise parties without the honored knowing what is going on. That might mean moving the party to a house other than their own. It also means that those invited must be careful not to say anything suspicious in the weeks and days leading up to those surprise parties. This can be hard, and many parties are found out before they can be a surprise due to well meaning people saying or doing the wrong thing. When this happens, give them conflicting information and some wrong clues. They may know there is a party coming, but they may not be able to pinpoint when it will happen. When that happens, it will still be somewhat of a surprise.
When you are planning surprise parties, you should think about the personality of the person that is being honored. Every person has something that they love, and if you can find a way to incorporate that into your party, it is going to be even more special. Don’t worry too much about the details if you don’t have the time. The most important thing is that you are thinking of them and that you want to celebrate a milestone with them. Everyone should have at least a few surprise parties thrown in their honor in their lifetime. When you want to do something special, this is the way to go.
