Sweating Is Natural

By: Leigh Day

Sweating Is Natural, Though The Odor Is Distasteful

When the body produces fluids that then evaporate, it ends up making a person sweat from their body’s sweat glands and this sweat in turn is primarily just water though there are some other chemicals as well. What’s more, it is normal for each of us to sweat since sweating is the body’s natural response to excessive body heat and it also has the desired effect of cooling down the body.

Overheating Of The Body

Overheating of the body activates the sweat glands which in turn results in sweating and when the sweat begins to evaporate from the surface of the skin the end result is a bringing of the body temperature down to a cooler level. Hence, whenever the temperatures rise and which normally of course occurs in the summer months, it is normal for individuals to experience heating up of their muscles that are a consequence of exertion and thus sweating can even become a bit of a problem.

In the face, sweating becomes greater even when a person is nervous or is feeling nauseous though when the temperatures subside, the sweat glands become inactive once more. However, sweating can also turn into hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) in which there is excessive perspiration and which can occur all over an individual’s body, or which can be located at certain specific areas of the body. Normally, an individual will experience sweating in places such as the feet, hands, groin as well as armpits and the reason for this is that these areas of the body contain higher numbers of sweat glands. However, sweating can occur in other parts of the body as well.

Hyperhidrosis may begin during adolescent years and even earlier, but it is also believed that it can be inherited as well, and it is also believed that approximately one percent of the US population is affected by it, though there is no gender bias and men as well as women are equally susceptible to sweating.

The best way to counteract the problem of sweating is to apply deodorants, especially at the armpits as this will help to counteract the body odor that usually emanates as a result of sweating. In fact, the reason why body odor is so distasteful is because there are many bacteria present in the sweat, and thus deodorants can nullify the bad smells. In fact, you can even apply deodorants at the feet as well and in the form of body sprays, they can reach all the affected areas.
