What I Discovered from Reading Homeschool Reviews

Kayley Kenzie

Before choosing to homeschool my children, I read various homeschool reviews. Most of the parents' experiences that I read about helped me understand the freedom that comes with expanding your child's curriculum further than just the 4-5 mandatory core subjects.

Of the homeschool reviews I read, one of the more interesting ones was about a mother who integrated a home-based business into her child's education.

She reflected on her experience by saying that this type of learning made her child better-rounded intellectually. She thought this was a great idea to help her child receive skills that are becoming more and more important with a varying economy.

Job security is becoming extinct, though for years people commonly expected to get a job right after completing college or trade school. It was generally expect that once you got the job, you would stay there. This hasn't been true for most people in this modern age.

As I read homeschool reviews, I learned that people chose the homeschooling approach to help give their children the best education possible.

In a homeschool setting, top education is strived for, but also helping children become successful and confident is another factor.

Most children aren't exposed to business courses in public or private schools, and they certainly aren't taught what it takes to start one. This homeschooling mother knew that fact.

Are you a mom who wants to homeschool and run your own business from home? You can. In fact, with help from your children, you could do it even more efficiently. You can teach them what it takes to set up and maintain their own home-based business.

This was truly interesting. Imagine not only earning extra money through your home-based business, but watching as your child saves up for his or her future.

The extra money is nice, but the lessons your child will learn along the way will be invaluable. Your child will learn how to budget money, learn the ins and outs of business taxation, understand how advertising works, and know how to assign tasks to others helping out with the project.

All of these are lessons that will help your children build financial security for the rest of their lives.

Without those homeschool reviews, I never would have thought of combining homeschooling with teaching a child to run a business. Your child could come up with a great product, a solution, or a marketing idea that takes off. It's a great way to help your child understand the free market economy.

After assigning your child to research the product, they could develop marketing strategies. They could also learn about the competition that is out there.

I agree with the homeschooling mother who discovered that learning how to run a home business is a great way to supplement homeschool curriculum.
