Home Theater Speakers Can Work

   By: Terry Olmort

Home Theater Speakers, Receiver And Television

With the right set up of home theater speakers, you can have a surround sound home theater. Consider the things that you like about the local movie theater and picture a surround sound system and wide screen television in your home. Add popcorn, candy and carbonated soft drinks and you have home theater. Seriously, you can have any refreshments that you prefer, you just need the wide screen television, a surround-sound receiver and home theater speakers.

Create A Surround-Sound Experience At Home

You will achieve the surround-sound experience with the use of four strategically placed home theater speakers. The home theater speakers are placed in positions in front of, beside or behind the audience. The speakers in front of the audience play all the sounds in the movie. Of these speakers placed in front of the audience, a front speaker is placed above or under the screen. All sounds in the movie are heard from this speaker and it is this speaker, which forms an audio anchor for the other speakers.

That central sound anchor is necessary so that the movie does not distract the audience by obviously coming from the back, one side or the other. The surround-sound experience is enhanced from sounds that emanate from the right or left home theater speakers. When an event happens in the movie and occurs on the right of the screen, the sound is broadcast through the right speakers and vice versa. A sense of movement can be created by moving background sounds from the front speakers to the back speakers.

The Input And Output Receiver

You can send sound signals into multiple sound channels that are heard through the different speakers. The movie can be viewed because it is broadcast through a video signal. Both the audio and video signals are received as input from a satellite signal, DVD player and a VCR and then sent to the output devices, which are the wide screen television and strategically placed speakers.

Wide-Screen Television

When a television is at least 27 inches wide, it is considered a wide-screen television. A clear picture is necessary to enjoy the enlarged view of the movie presentations. A better picture will enhance the action and clarity of the movie presentations. You can make your choice from several types of television screen options. There are DTV, HDTV, flat-panel screens, front and rear projection televisions and direct view television.

The right set up of your home theater speakers adds a fantastic element to the ordinary television watching experience. Creating your home theater is not that difficult to set up with the wide screen television, home theater speakers and the receiver. You can create a customized home theater that has the same features as a public movie theater, including bolted chairs, curtains and soundproofing of the room in which the home theater will be held.
