Marci Shimoff, a contributing author of the phenomenal book "The Secret", is also one of the most successful self-help authors for women with bestsellers including "Chicken Soup for the Woman's Soul", "Chicken Soup for the Mother's Soul", and "Happy for No Reason".

Aside from her impressive writing career, Marci has been made famous by her appearances in other types of media. She has appeared on more than 500 shows for radio and television, she has been featured in more than 100 newspapers, and her articles have been featured in popular women's magazines including "Ladies' Home Journal" and "Woman's World".

Because of her interest in the motivation and development of others, Marci Shimoff co-founded and is a board member for the Transformational Leadership Council. The council so far has helped over 10 million people in the self-development market.

Marci has known since the 1970's that she wanted to make a career out of professional speaking. Back in 1970, most people had never even heard of a career in public speaking. Why would anyone want to talk for a living? Marci wasn't discouraged, though. In fact, her father was the one who told her to do whatever would make her happy.

Fancy cars, jets, estate homes, and things like that are popular among rich people, but have you noticed how many of them are only happy when they use their money to help people rather than buy more "stuff"? Perhaps it's because the "stuff" can be lost, stolen, broken, or destroyed. Benefits to society are a way to get the "pay it forward" ball rolling, though.

The "Forbes Wealthiest People in America" list says that wealthy people are 40% less happy than average Americans. Does that statistic surprise you? Marci wrote "Happy for No Reason" to help people see the bigger pictures. Money isn't the answer just as success isn't the answer.

"I'll be happy when..." is obviously not the answer, either. I'm sure we've all been down that path many times before. I'll be happy when I lose 20 lbs? No, because losing 20 lbs means you have to spend money on new clothes, and spending money on new clothes means there is less money in your budget. Less money means more stress, so are you really going to be happy when you lose 20 lbs? No! People who are happy are only happy because they're completely content with the life they currently live. They're happy for "no reason at all".

Are you happy for no reason? If you aren't, let
