How Do I Run A Profitable Internet Marketing Blog?
Christopher Stigson
This is Christopher Stigson, a blogger who has spent hundreds of hours trying to figure out the blogging game. I think I've finnally cracked part of the code and I'm sharing this with you today. The point of this article is to run a test and at the same time share some knowledge about internet marketing blogs.
You've probably heard that blogs are profitable means of making money online, and you are right, they are. It's just that you need to do a few things differently in order to get the most out of your blog and internet marketing strategies for promoting it and to finally increase top search engine rankings.
What I've found is that creating a traffic pulling blog is more than just about getting search engine rankings. You need more... See... Blogs are so easily syndicated using RSS and tools such as RSS submit to get your website spread like wildfire in just one go. This is no news... This isn't any news either, but you want to "deep link" your blog posts and have strictly defined anchor texts.
You should always "sub-niche" your internet marketing blog. Doing "traffic", or "articles", or maybe "eBay marketing" is a good way to "sub-niche" your sites. It's not at all difficult to sub-niche and it's far more profitable since you WON'T be burried hundreds of miles down in the 46th page of Google!
It's important to "niche within the internet marketing niche" if you want to dominate search engines. It's that simple to generate income, once it's set up. Don't make the mistake of targeting "make money", "make easy money" or "make money online" first time around or you'll be quite disappointed =). Instead use keyword research tools and gain massive leverage over your competition who is guessing what we search for.
If we were to use "traffic generation" as an example of a sub-niche, then after keyword research we'd most likely find a keyword such as "increase search engine traffic". Search it, do some "link:http://www.yourcompetition.com" in Yahoo to find how many backlinks these sites have between search results 10 and 20. We have found a viable sub-niche-long-tail-keyword. Hurray!
Now when you have a topic and a keyword it's time to create a domain name that has similar or an exact name of the keyword. So "www.increase-search-engine-traffic.com" would be ideal for "increase search engine traffic". You can go as far as doing "www.increasesearchenginetraffic.com", but I like the dashes. For search engine rankings, I personally haven't seen it matter.
It's time to pump out massive amounts of content about your keyword. In this case we used "increase search engine traffic", so let's write about it in your blog! Sounds smart and simple? Well, it is... It's also smart to collect another 10-20 or even 50 NEW keywords and create articles about these as well. Start posting them to various article directories like ezinearticles or goarticles for maximum exposure.
