Before going to an interview, it is best to do some research about the company one is applying to.

Be sure to bring extra copies of your resume and any other pertinent documents to answer certain questions, when you do meet with an employer. An example of certain documents need would be portfolios. These are used by architects and photographers, for example, which show some of the work they have performed in the past.
Make sure that you dress your best and appropriately. The applicant who is applying for the job will show sincerity to the employer. Hair and fingernails should be well groomed and presentable for the interview. Wear a professional business suit. The shoes that you wear must match the suit or outfit that you are wearing. Tone it down if you normally wear a lot of jewelry.
When you are in front of the employer, smile and greet the interviewer with a firm (but not bone crushing) handshake which is always a good start to get the interview moving.
