A good healthy diet is an essential part of longevity by eating the right sorts of food your body has a much better chance of fighting illness, old age and disease. Simply put keeping well and avoiding illness and disease you will increase your life span significantly.

Probably the biggest contributor to death prematurely is cancer which is much more prevalent in smokers. If you stop or avoid smoking you reduce your risk significantly. Skin cancer is also pretty common in the western world and again can be avoided just by taking precautions against the sun.

The majority of us have good intentions we do want to modify our lifestyle but all too frequently after the initial drive at the start we stop trying and things just start to slip. We start eating unhealthy foods again, we don't drink enough water and we resume all those old bad habits of smoking, drinking and in some cases even using drugs. It's crazy really as we know that these will shorten our lives but we just ignore them

So what can you do about making life changing differences immediatly. The first phase is just to get started. Start making small changes to your life style now and then keep doing more and more and you will notice an overall improvement in your health your attitude to life and long term your life expectancy will improve.

Once that initial step has been taken and you begin on the right path more positive steps will follow.

How you are today has been because of your current actions and beliefs, but by changing those beliefs and taking different actions you'll experience positive changes in your life.

Those little changes might seem quite intimidating at the moment but implenting them will take very little extra effort and will be very worthwhile. Just imagine how much more you will be able to do when brimming with energy and enjoying good health.
