Advertising is selling in print. You want your ads to sell whatever it is that you're promoting on your website.

1.) If you use AdWords to generate sales leads for your business by giving away something for free on your website in exchange for your potential customer's contact information then your ad copy should clearly promote your free giveaway.

2.) Do you run an ecommerce website selling products online? If you said yes then your ad copy should be specific to the benefits of the product(s) you're selling. Remember your ad copy is your salesperson in print.

Now we're going to discuss one of the fastest ways to find out which ads are already performing well on Google. Get our your notepad and right down the main goal of your website (generate sales leads or sell products directly).

Pick a popular keyword or key phrase that's related to what you're promoting (write it down).

Now go to Google.com. Enter your keyword into the search box and hit the search button. See the ads on the top and right hand side of the page? Look at these ads. Are any of the ads promoting a similar offering to what you're offering? If so jot down the ads you see and like.

Let's take it one step further... Since your main goal is to find the best performing ads for your keyword or key phrase we're going to use a technique here that gets Google to show us the ads that are getting the best Click Through Ratios (CTR's, simply put the most number of clicks based on the number of times that ad was displayed for your keyword).

Now type in your keyword like this, (your keyword 7uyr5). Note, take out the parenthesis when you do your search. The concept behind this technique is as follows, since no one is really searching with "7uyr5" after your search term Google shows you the best performing ads based on your main keyword. This gives you a decent idea of which ads in your space are already performing somewhat well.

Do you see ads on the search results page? Write down the ads that appear to be promoting something similar to what you want to promote. These ads will give you a good starting point for writing your own ads.

I use this technique every day when I'm launching a new campaign. When I want to find out which ads are already performing well in Google this is the technique that I use. You know have a great way to find good ad copy ideas for your own ads.

I hope that this information has proved useful to you. I'm sure that you'll discover some great ad copy ideas for your own campaigns.

Conclusion: Keep in mind that your ad copy is your salesperson in print. If you have a clear benefit packed offer in your ads with a direct call to action your ads will perform well.
