Advertize Via Your Virtual Assistant Business Card
Di Chapman
Today, with cheap printing, a Virtual Assistants Business Card should be more than a simple one sided card with your business details on it. It should be something that people will want to keep.
This is called making your Business Card 'sticky'.
You could cover them in food obviously but let's think about the blank side. It does not cost very much to get the blank side of the card printed and this on its own can make the card useful to its recipient.
Cards I have kept have one thing in common, they are really useful.
* Appointment cards from hairdressers or anyone else you make an appointment with on a regular basis. A simple calendar that they can just tick the date.
* You now have a handy little calendar in your pocket or purse. No need to take out your electronic or paper diary when you need to check the day of the week.
* If you do accounts, you can have the important dates for submissions on the back of the card. If you also put a note in your diary to contact them well in advance of these dates you may well pick up SME's who up to now have been struggling on their own.
* I used a hairdresser in the UK for many years. One January she produced her new business cards which opened like a little booklet. I had one discount for being a loyal client and another if I changed the date of my appointment to one of those highlighted in the calendar. Obviously she had worked out her slack days and was using this method to fill them.
Now let's look at ideas that Virtual Assistants could use on their cards.
The aims and ideals of your company or a list of services that your Virtual Assistant company offers.
You can offer a free hour or half hour of VA work to a new client. Be specific as to what you are offering and what is not covered.
Work such as Transcription can be very complicated so a FAQ or list of hints and tips would be useful and also make it clear what your services are.
Awards and Testimonials are always good publicity so list those on the back of your card.
Don't follow the herd. Try to make your card stand out and something other business people want to keep.
You need to have that unique edge to stand out. Everyone is always receiving business cards, how can you make yours unforgettable? If you work on a commercial estate, perhaps you could put a map to your office on the back.
Quotes or even jokes that relate to your business
There are many words of wisdom that are suitable for the back of business cards. If you have run a seminar, you could print the main 5 points from that on your card using quotes as examples.
The outcome is to be remembered
When the time comes to sort out the business cards you have collected, you normally give them a good look before deciding what to do with them. They all go into my CRM system but some get filed in the round bin under my desk while others go into my card books. If I am looking for a service I automatically look through my card books first.
With the ability to buy 250 cards at a time and pay just a little more for printing on the back, you could make this one of your marketing ploys. You could send your new cards to your current clients to see what they think. Thinking about this, send 2 or 3 and ask them to pass the others on. Then you hand out your new card to those you know already have the old one. This will stick in their minds and they will remember you and your Virtual Assistant Company.
