Organize The Clutter, Organize Your Mind
Kenrick Cleveland
"Three Rules of Work: Out of clutter find simplicity; From discord find harmony; In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." -Albert Einstein
Over the weekend I did something very interesting. In retrospect, it was enjoyable though it was kind of a difficult process. I did a major spring cleaning of my office and got everything reorganized and put together. It reminded me of my childhood and triggered of a lot of things that I haven't done which I would like to do. It was difficult to get motivated to do it, but sitting in a much more organized office today is definitely worth the effort.
Opening yourself up to being organized can be a process for your life focusing on the things you want and illuminating the path to take to get there. Clutter and disorganization aren't only physically manifested, but can be found most definitely in your thought processes as well. Internal spring cleaning can be accomplished through the universe exercise I've described in previous articles.
It seems like life is running at accelerated speeds-we work, we have families, we accumulate (for me-my weakness is books) and it's easy to get overwhelmed. This is what partly led to my office being not quite as deeply organized as I would like it to be.
What happens is, when you have so much that you're focusing in on on a daily basis, I think it's almost counter intuitive, or at least it has been for me. We spread ourselves so thin with passing attention to one thing or another. This acceleration, I believe, may be hindering us from giving the attention necessary to the important things in life.
One strategy for focus involves the universe system and the goal would be to be more of a quarterly review of the universes and a daily review of the really important points that we're working on right now and to make that kind of easy to do along with a daily session that would allow us to focus more powerfully too.
When we achieve clarity, amazing results abound. With systematic organization of our work spaces, our lives, our thought processes, we can have breakthrough after breakthrough in our ability to grow and persuade.
