Standing Meditation Can Be Practiced Both In The Outdoors And Also Indoors

One little known fact when it concerns standing meditation that is often overlooked, but which is quite amusing is that you won’t be likely to fall asleep when performing this form of meditation, and that you can practice it either in the outdoors or indoors. In addition, the instructions you need to follow in order to perform standing meditation are not that difficult to follow and anyone can easily succeed with this form of meditation.

To begin with, it requires standing with feet in a parallel position and about shoulder width distant from each other. Next, you can take a long and deep breath and say the word ‘aaaah’ each time you exhale. The next thing you need to do when practicing standing meditation is, while exhaling, to release the tension from your neck and shoulders as well as face in manner that will help melt away whatever was causing tension in those places.

You need to also concentrate on feeling the energy that is within you and as it settles into your legs and feet as well as hips and belly, it will help makes a strong connection between you and the earth. You can then bend your knees (only slightly) which will enable you to feel the softest of feelings at the back of the knees.

Overcome Your Initial Fears

As a beginner to the practice of standing meditation, you need to be able to overcome your fears regarding the sensations and thoughts that you feel while meditating, because the main objective of standing meditation is to bring your mind to focus on becoming an observer of the experience you are feeling while you are performing standing meditation and being free of all fears.

Actually, standing meditation is a very basic posture practiced in Qi Gong, and before you get stuck into this form of meditation, it is first of all necessary for you to begin by simply standing, and then do some warm up Qi Gong exercises that will help build up the energy force in you, after which you are ready to perform your standing meditation. Ideally, Qi Gong standing meditation needs to be practiced once to thrice a day and you can start with just five minutes of this form of meditation and then build it up to as long as even twenty minutes though never more than forty-five minutes in a day.

All that it takes to get the most out of standing meditation is to ensure that as soon as your mind begins to wander, to make your mind go back to following each breathe you to take.
