Is He The Right One? Pay Attention To The Signs!

Recently, I woke up to discover a car with a broken axle sitting in front of my house. To me, it symbolized a part of human nature that can cause problems, and can even keep you from ending up with your true love. Let me explain. I live close to an intersection that was closed due to construction. Leading up to the intersection, there were all kinds of signs posted letting drivers know that the road was closed.
This wasn't all too fascinating to me. Anyone who drives has seen these types of signs before. What was interesting was the number of people who drove all the way to the road block before turning around in our drive way to find a different route. They had to pass at least 3 signs, and stop in front of a physical barrier before they were convinced that the road signs were telling the truth. One morning we even woke up to discover a car that had went around the road block and had broken its axle when it fell into the hole on the other side.
Why is it that people refuse to read the signs? The road is closed. Nothing will change that. There is no magical power given to any of us that will open the road to us individually. It is closed whether or not we choose to acknowledge it. Yet, many people still ignore the signs, hoping things will be different for them.
Many of us are also this way in our romantic lives. Often there are signs telling us where our relationship is headed. Many times we refuse to acknowledge the signs telling us our relationship is heading towards a big dead end and we continue to stay until there is no other choice but to painfully stop and turn around. Other times, we jump ship on a potentially great relationship due to a few small bumps in the road.
What types of relationship signs can you see on your relationship road? Here are a few to look for: 1. Recognize if you are compatible with each other. 2. Identify if you are both heading down a similar path in life. 3. See if universal values like honesty and fidelity are part of your relationship. 4. Know the attributes that will destroy any relationship and avoid them.
