If you take the time to do your homework, your vending machines should make money. You will have them placed in prime locations and know they are in good working condition. However, situations can chance without your control that may result in the profits stopping.
There isn't much you can do about businesses that are struggling to get people to them. They may be barely hanging on or deciding to shut down. If the business changes hands the new owners may not want vending machines out there. Even if it moves to a new location there may not be a need for your vending machines. Whatever the case may be you need to address the issue and then think about your options.
Be prepared for any possible changes that can occur within your relationship with the owner of the vending machine location. The best way to do this is to have some written materials that are found in your contract.
