Build Your List The Fast And Easy Way

Ray Edwards

Today's subject deals with list-building. I get many questions from people who want to know how to build a list quickly to improve their business.

Building a list is easier than you think.

The fact is the techniques of list-building are really quite simple.

Follow these three tactics to do some fast and easy list-building:

Create a "squeeze page". Not many people use squeeze pages, despite the fact that they really work. Perhaps this is because it takes backbone to say, "Until I get your e-mail address, you can't see anything!" I promise you will build your list of subscribers by using a squeeze page. As an example, take a look at my squeeze page at www.rayedwardscopy.com. I don't offer anything, not even an ethical bribe, to convince people to opt-in. Despite that, my conversion rate is an amazing 38%! Best of all, I have a great list.

"Ad swap" with other list owners. If you have an e-zine, find other e-zine advertisers and offer to run each other's ads. If you (or they!) don't run ads, contact them. Ask if they would be willing to promote your newsletter while you promote theirs. Simply write a couple of lines advising your readers to check out the new newsletter you just found. Don't forget the link! This is one of the simplest, most effective ways to build your list.

Use forum postings to get opt-ins. Provided you have an ethical bribe to offer to your subscribers - something like an audio, or a special report, or a pdf, or a piece of software - you can post to forums (posting good content, of course, no spam!), and in your signature line, most forums will allow you to say, "To get my 'Seven Tips on Building Your List', click here." That link leads them directly to your opt-in page. Now, do you think you can take twenty minutes a day, visit ten forums, answer people's questions (don't just post a blatant ad), provide good content, and include your signature line with your link at the bottom of every post? Of course you can! I get subscribers every day from this tactic, and I hardly have time to post to forums anymore!
