Try and incorporate that engagement idea into any event that was significant in your relationship. Remember your first kiss or the first time you said "I love you", those locations have a significant meaning in your relationship and by proposing there, it reflects the importance of those moments.

Maybe you’re both the kind of people that enjoy staying home, well make your proposal there. Make it a special evening; if you enjoy cooking make something you both enjoy. Not a great cook? Find a restaurant that you can purchase carry out from or get the meal catered. Your significant other will appreciate the effort that you have put out to create the perfect atmosphere. A well set table is also a great memorable feature. Spread some rose petals around the table and have a center piece filled with her favorite flowers.
If there is a restaurant that you frequent, incorporate that into your proposal. Have the waiter present the dessert tray with the boxed ring as one of the selections. Or propose to her at the table.
There is always that romantic carriage ride that many cities offer, and this can be a splendid way to pop the big question. Or a romantic walk and picnic can be the best choice for you and your partner. Have the engagement ring in the picnic basket with a note asking if she’ll marry you.
When thinking of engagement ideas, sometimes its best to keep it simple. If the plan involves many details it can hit some snags and not come off as originally planned. This is an important step; after all, it doesn’t have to be perfect to be special.
