Zune players are considered new compared to iPods. As such, not much information is available about how to download music to Zune. But if you are already familiar with using MP3 players, then what you read here would be simple to grasp.
If you own an MP3 player, you probably already are adept at music transfers between your computer and player. Unlike iPod which requires iTunes, you need to Windows Media Player for music formatting. In today's environment, there are basically 3 methods to download music to Zune.
Ripping music from CDs is an age old affair now in the homes of many teens and even adults. This allows you to download music to Zune quite easily. I wouldn't say it is convenient but if you can dig out a CD from your collection or head over to a friend's place to borrow the latest album, you can find some favourite songs to rip. Simply pop the CD into the drive, run the Windows media player and click on the CD icon and the titled tracks are flashed before you.
>From there, just pick the tracks you like and mouse click the "Rip" button. The songs that are ripped would appear shortly in the library. Once it is done, connect your player to the computer via a USB cable. If the settings are properly configured between your player and the PC, synchronization should take place automatically and it would download the music to your Zune.
Even if the synchronization is stopped abruptly or the connection is not working well, you can still transfer the songs directly to your player. The important thing is to ensure all your files are in the correct format. By that, I mean they need to be in WMA, WMV, MP3 and MOV formats which are compatible with Zune. DivX is not the right format. So do take note.
CD ripping is not the best method but it is still an affordable one nonetheless. Another way is to go to an online music store like Zune marketplace or other places like Amazon, Rhapsody and HMV to download music to Zune. Seldom would you come across a song that is priced above $0.99 as this is an industry standard.
The final method to download music to Zune which I am going to show you is to choose a paid membership service. For a cheap yearly subscription, you can access millions of songs both classic and new across all genres. There is also a package for lifetime access which costs a few bucks more. Needless to say, it is worthwhile to go for it.
These are what you need to learn to be able to download music to Zune. I know that you must be itching for some music now. Run along to my song blog and feed your player with the latest hits now.
