Allowing Customers To Host Parties At Your Restaurant

If you have a nice restaurant that customers are happy with, chances are you will get requests for them to host parties at your establishment. There are all types of events that they may want to have there including bridal showers, baby showers, family gatherings, birthday parties, and work parties.
This is a personal choice, so you will need to decide if you want to involve yourself in it. While it can be profitable, it can also be very time consuming. You are also going to have to take close look at how your restaurant is set up. Is there a place available for such events to take place? Can you install a sliding door to block off a portion of the restaurant to give them some privacy?
You definitely want to have a way to segregate the party from the rest of your guests at the restaurant. This way those at the party can have their fun in a more intimate setting. Your other guests won't feel so bothered by what is taking place around them either. It is a good idea to have some set rules in place for the use of the area to host a party at your restaurant as well. This way both you and the guests will know what can be expected to take place.
Depending on the number of guests at the party, you are going to make a great deal of money of off the event. Therefore, it really isn't necessary to charge them a fee for using the facility. You may want to charge a small deposit though that they will get back after the event as long as they have cleaned up all of their decorations and things they brought in with them.
It is very important that you have plenty of staff to work these types of parties. You are going to have regular guests in your restaurant at the same time. It isn't reasonable to think that your regular staff will be able to take care of both things at the same time. If the host of the party isn't happy with the service, you can be sure they won't book with you again. If your regular customers are left waiting because of the party they may not come back again either.
The bookings for the parties is very important as well. Make sure you have a reliable person or yourself taking care of all the details. If the person taking care of it isn't in, have the other employees provide them with contact information. There are too many issues that can happen if you let everyone start making such arrangements for parties. Some of them may not get written down accurately, and others many not get written down at all.
There is a great deal of information that has to be obtained in order for the party to be successfully booked. Find out the date and the times that they will need to have the space. You also need to find out how many people the estimate in attendance so you can prepare your staff accordingly. Discuss issues such as being able to decorate for the event if they want to and cleaning up afterwards. Some may ask you if they can bring in other food items to share and that is something you will need to consider as well.
The menu is also something that needs to be discussed for the party. Find out if they want the entire menu to be offered to the guests or not. If the host is paying for everyone, they may want to offer one or two items off the menu. You can also discuss price discounts with them to make it more affordable while still profitable for you. The more effort you put into helping them with the details of the party, the more they will appreciate your efforts and recommend your restaurant to others.
