window cleaners
The cleanliness of your windows can add a lot to a room. There have been many times when I have cleaned my home, only to feel like something is not quite right. It always ends up being the windows, and for some reason, this is always something that I forget to do. Though there are many who say that they hate to do windows, I don't mind it so much. I just seem to forget about them each and every time I clean. This really isn't good either, as I have a young daughter and she loves to get them grimy. Though there are many great window cleaners you can buy in the store, there is one really effective one you can make at home for a lot less money.
You probably have many window cleaners under your sink. I know I do, and I'm not even sure why. My husband usually buys a new bottle each time he cleans out the car, and he never buys the same kind. I don't know why this is, but that's just how he does things. I have the more expensive window cleaners, and I have quite a few brands I have never heard of before. They all seem to work pretty well, and they are what I use whenever I find something that needs to be cleaned at the last minute.
When I want window cleaners for a specific cleaning spree, and I actually remember the windows, I always make my own. I worked for a maid service to put myself through college, and we never used commercial window cleaners on the job. Instead, we made our own. We used a mixture of vinegar and water, and it worked just as well, if not better, than the commercial brands you get in the store. Even if you don't want to use that all of the time (the scent isn't that great), it does work well in a pinch.
You may see ads on your television for special window cleaners that look like the squeegee you might use on your car or to clean storefront windows. Don't waste your money. My husband got me one of these once, thinking he was doing me a favor. It was cumbersome to use, and I had to clean the windows the traditional way when I was finished. They may work well on a windshield, but they are not recommended for your home windows.
