To be completely frank, I’ve never been one for cloths. After all, I am a man. I grew up thinking that dressy attire was a girly thing. To this day I still harbor the same point of view for the most part. It’s not that I can’t appreciate mens fashion clothing. I just don’t care to spend all my cash on button-up shirts, slacks, and a variety of shoes. I wear Dr Marten’s boots on a daily basis, along with T-shirts and jeans. However, like most men, I have a wife. She naturally would like to see me dress up more often. That means less blue jeans and T-shirts, and more long-sleeved button-downs and dress shoes. YIKES! What is a guy to do? Well, we have to compromise, or get punished routinely in odd ways. Every married man knows exactly what I mean by this. So who’s up for some fashion advice?
Right now it’s all about the J-Crew and Banana Republic. These are the two stores that my wife adores for men’s clothing. So if you’re up for a trip to the mall, this is where mens fashion clothing begins. After all, there aren’t many other stores to pick from, are there? Banana Republic, for those who do not already know, is a part of Gap and Old Navy. The three of these chains are quite the powerful force. While all offer mens fashion clothing to some extent, Banana Republic is at the top. This means you can expect to pay more than you would at the Gap, and certainly more than you would shopping at Old Navy. No worries! It’s not like you do this every week. It’s more like a one-a-year event for me. Take care of your cloths and they will last a long time. Okay, so I mentioned Banana Republic, which offers a sleek line of modern urban gear for males. Then there was J-Crew, which offers a nice laid-back line of mens fashion clothing. J-Crew has plenty of jeans and casual button-downs. The only downside is they’re pretty pricey. I’d say even more so than Banana Republic. The trick is to hit the big sales. This is when all that stylish clothing drops to 50-70 percent off. Think end of season sales. If you’re shopping for summer clothing, hit up these stores just as fall is about to begin. Everything will go on sale. You can get your attire for next summer. The same goes for all seasons.
When you’re into mens fashion clothing, you have to obey the rules. This means NOT sticking a pair of slacks in the washing machine that specify "Dry clean ONLY." Take care of your nice cloths and your wallet will appreciate it.
