The Jobs You Can Do With Duct Tape

By: Hunter Jones

Most people know at least a little bit about how useful duct tape is. No matter what profession you are in, what your life has been like so far, or where you have gone, you have probably employed this incredibly useful adhesive at some point or another. There are few people who really realize how far ducts taping can go, however. I am a pretty hands on guy and a nerd. I have warned the proverbial duct taped glasses before. As a matter of fact, I can think of thousands of projects I wouldn’t have been able to complete nearly as easily without it.

I have even fixed my car up with black duct tape. For years and years, I used to get around in a beat-up old Toyota. I’m sure that in its prime, it was probably a pretty good car, but it was long past tat by the time I got it. I must’ve fixed the car up with duct tape dozens of times. One time, I used it to hold on a falling exhaust system for a couple miles. Another time, I duct taped the bumper on to the car. I definitely would not recommend either of these solutions, but in a pinch, it is definitely better than nothing.

Few people realize, however, that you can also use duct tape for crafts. This ridiculous yet remarkable craft activity has actually become pretty stylish lately. Back in the day, it was something that people just did by themselves for hobbies. Duct tape wallets, hats, patches, and other common accessories were a way to pass the time among the DIY high school set.

Of course, nowadays, people get pretty serious about duct tape crafts. I have actually seen stores selling duck tape wallets for as much as 10 dollars! To me, this takes the whole point out of it. What is so nice about it is that you can easily fashion it into anything you want. It lasts pretty well, and it is easy to repair. Why have some else do your DIY crafts for you? For me, it is so much more fun if you do it yourself. It is such an easy material to work with, after all, and no one can tell you what is the wrong way or the right way to do it. If you have never been involved in craft before, it is a perfect place to start experimenting.
