Concealed Weapons Are Illegal

By: Cameron Stewart

Okay, here comes one heck of a sensitive topic. I’m going to discuss concealed weapons, and why I think they will always be a part of our world. Of course I realize that there are commonly two kinds of people when it comes to this subject. There are the ones who despise weapons altogether and think they’re the root of all crime and evil, and then there’s the folks that feel it’s their God-given right to bare arms. Uh, I may have been a little extreme with that first group of people. So we’re dealing with folks who do NOT like this routine and a number of others who do. Do you know where you stand?

I make it no secret that I love weapons. I choose to see these tools in a good light. Now just to be clear, I’m not addressing A-bombs or nuclear warheads. I’m talking about simple weapons such as knives, fire arms, pepper spray, tazers, and impact devices. In short, I’m all for concealed weapons. Let me elaborate on why I believe they’re necessary. First and foremost, they present options. As opposed to imagining criminals toting around concealed weapons, which they would do regardless of what laws were enforced, ponder innocent individuals such as yourself. Shouldn’t it be your right to protect yourself from dangerous criminals and assailants? How can it make sense for a thug to carry a knife on his belt and you not be able to wear a firearm? Again, he’s going to wear his without concern to what the local laws state. He is after all a CRIMINAL. So when he pulls a knife on your family in a mall parking level, you will be standing there like a deer in headlights. Or, you can get trained and certified, and proceed to carry concealed weapons such as a firearm. This way if it comes down to dying or defending your family, you actually have a choice. Running is NOT always an option.

It’s essential to check the state laws. Some states allow certain concealed weapons, and others frown upon the notion. However, many states will allow you to carry concealed weapons if you acquire proper training and a license first. Just as a heads up, Illinois is not one of these. Don’t expect to carry concealed weapons in Chicago. At least not legally.
